so i was so excited to go to chicago for the WXRT holiday concert thing this past weekend. i had such high expectation for the line up and was thinking that this will be the best show to end 2009 with. then real life happened. the venue was huge (i hate that). the sound system was blah. i lost my floor general admission tix and had to sit way up on the nosebleed section by myself for pete yorn set (long story). then we found out that phoenix’s drummer had to fly back to europe because of a family emergency (i hope nothing too bad happened). they did play an acoustic 3 song set but if you’ve heard them live as i have before, a short acoustic set didn’t do them justice.

i mean, pete yorn still put on a great show (max was dancing up a storm with his tambourine).

and we did move to better seats for phoenix…

and the flaming lips. i’ve never seen them live before and they were kinda amazing (she don’t use jelly!).

so i did had a good time. but i should not had that great of an expectation to begin with. it ruined the experience a bit for me. this also goes for relationships.

OMFG! what a finale. that’s how you end a season. i still cringe.

got an oil change and new wiper blades today. then i was told that one of my tire has a bulge that’s ready to pop anytime (like a pimple, eww) from hitting the many potholes on minneapolis’ roads, 2 bad ones and 1 kinda ok one. so yeah, that’s 400 bucks for the car today.

but the good news is that now my car’s all set to go to drive to iowa tomorrow to meet up with darice, then to illinois for the best holiday concert line-up ever on friday! snowstorm and all.
