architecture turned into enjoyment and participation.
instead of contemplating the void of the guggenheim museum’s central space, JDS architects have proposed an experience which sees a trampoline net spiraling down the institution’s rotunda. this idea plays on frank lloyd wright’s original scenography for the guggenheim in which he envisioned patrons visiting the exhibition from the top, downwards.

i don’t know him but i hope he get himself an awesome job soon because he has a ridiculously awesome website.

Blue Valentine is fiction, but it was created like a documentary. The actors lived their parts as the camera crew followed their every move.

The result is a tragic love story about a couple — played by Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams— trying to reclaim their passion, intercut with memories from the dawn of their romance.

Director Derek Cianfrance ”wanted to make it as voyeuristic as he could,” Gosling says. “A lot of things we did for real. For instance, we really got married by a justice of the peace. We lived in this house together, and we’d fall asleep, and in the morning the whole crew would sneak in and shoot us waking up.”

Much of the movie, which premiered Sunday, was improvised.

“We wrote our own vows when we got married, we were there with other people getting married …” Gosling says. “I guess the only reason it’s not legit is we used our character names.”

last saturday afternoon dessert and coffee with the girls, salty caramel macarons and tiramisu cupcake from sweets bakeshop in st. paul. so good but we couldn’t eat there, the shop is tiny and have no seats.
